What chart replay is
Chart replay — also called bar replay or market replay — rewinds a chart to a past moment, hides everything after it, and plays price forward bar by bar. You read the market and make decisions without knowing what happens next, which is the only honest way to practice a discretionary strategy on history.
How chart replay works here
- Choose ES or NQ and a starting minute anywhere in the history.
- Replay continuously, or drill a fixed window every day — for example 09:30 to 11:30 New York time — and jump straight to the next trading day when the window closes.
- Play at 2× to 60×, or step one bar at a time.
- Switch between 1m, 3m, 5m, 15m, 30m, 1h, 4h and 1D without losing your place.
- Place market, limit and stop orders on the chart, each new position with its stop and target.
- Open the session report to review every trade.
More than a rewind button
- Fills on the one-minute tape. Whatever timeframe you’re watching, every resting order is checked against each one-minute bar before it is drawn, so fast playback never skips a fill.
- Nothing is thrown away. Every placement, fill and cancellation is saved with the session, including orders that never filled.
- Drawings stay where you put them. Lines and boxes are stored in time and price, so a level drawn on 15m sits exactly right on 1m — and is still there after you close the browser or switch machines.
- A scored daily game. The daily challenge replays one full trading day for everyone and scores the result in R.
What you can replay
- ES (E-mini S&P 500): 2016-01-03 to 2026-07-24, 3.71 million one-minute bars at true traded prices — 78 monthly contracts stitched by volume crossover with no spread adjustment, so historical levels are prices an order could really have been worked at.
- NQ (E-mini Nasdaq-100): 2021-09-29 to 2026-09-01, 1.74 million one-minute bars, back-adjusted — shape, volatility and volume are real, but levels are shifted to smooth out rolls. Read the structure, not the exact price.
- Both contracts include the full electronic session, not just regular trading hours.
